About

Robert Greene called William Shakespeare an "Upstart Crow" in 1592 at the very beginning of his documented writing career (wikipedia), launching young Will S. on the path to become widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language. Today many new writers also earn similar labels from their more well-established contemporaries  Especially when choosing to self publish. And some will go on to achieve success, regardless and perhaps in spite of these labels.

Being an Upstart Crow, means taking risks, breaking boundaries, reaching higher. The UCWA's mission is to help writers become authors; to help them perfect their craft and achieve their publishing goals.
